Scribbly is a simple app to quickly jot down thoughts, ideas, or tasks that pop up while you're doing other things. It's built on helpful ideas from systems like GTD and Zettelkasten, but keeps things flexible and easy. Think of it as your journal and task list — always ready when you need it.
Statuses help you organize your notes: • Unsorted – Notes you haven't organized yet. • Task – Things you plan to do. • Note – Stuff you want to save, like ideas, links, or info. • Done – Tasks you finished and want to keep for reference. • Discarded – Things you planned but dropped. • Archived – Notes you don't need now, but don't want to delete.
Threads let you connect related notes as a chain. Start one from any note and add more as your thoughts grow. Great for keeping your ideas flowing without overthinking it.
You can use Markdown to format your notes (like bold, headers, lists). There's a built-in Markdown helper you can turn on when writing a note.
Tags help group similar notes. Just tap the tags menu or type # while writing to add or create tags. You can make as many as you like.
Use clear, specific tags that make sense at a glance. Good: amsterdam-2025-tasks Not-so-good: trip Think of them like little list names, not just filters.
Snooze lets you set a note to show up again later — like a gentle nudge. It's handy for reminders or saving a note to look back on later.
Just long-press the note and the options will pop up.
You can back them up to iCloud from the settings menu.
If your notes are backed up to iCloud, they'll be safe. When you reinstall, you'll get the option to restore them.
Not yet — but it's on the way!
